He ran his own freelance photography business in southern California for many years. Currently he has his own stock photography business (www.StockPhotosArizona.com) and Fine Art Print business (www.JeffColburn.com).

The New State Motor Building, 110 Main St., across the street from Grapes Restaurant and down the stairs) was built in 1918, and the area where the cooperative is located used to be the service garage. Up to three cars at a time could be worked on in the garage.
It wasn't easy getting the cars in for service. A car could be lowered into the garage with a huge lift that was originally located where you now find the post office.
This lift can now be seen in the cooperative, with a car on it. The other option was to drive a car down a curved, wooden ramp that led from the street to a door on the side of the garage.
One wrong turn, and the car could fall far enough that no mechanic could put it back together.
Some years ago, the Jerome Historical Society (www.JeromeHistoricalSociety.com, 928-634-1066, PO Box 156, 407 Clark Street, Jerome, AZ 86331) purchased the garage, and recently turned it into an artist's cooperative for both new and established artists.
Currently, the artists include photographers, painters, a sculptor and jeweler. This little gem also contains a coffee shop, gift shop and most importantly, public restrooms. The cooperative is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
