Fiesta del Tlaquepaque 40-year celebration

Bring your family and friends for a day of South of the Border entertainment with folk dancers of all ages in gorgeous traditional costumes, heart-pounding fiery flamenco dancing and a fabulous infusion of world-class music.

The longest running and most popular cultural celebration in Sedona is the Fiesta del Tlaquepaque, remembering Mexican Independence Day. Still going strong after 40 years, this year's signature festival takes place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village. Admission is free and parking is available at the Uptown municipal parking lot with continuous service to and from Fiesta.

Bring your family and friends for a day of South of the Border entertainment with folk dancers of all ages in gorgeous traditional costumes, heart-pounding fiery flamenco dancing and a fabulous infusion of world-class music all day. Tlaquepaque's main Calle and its charming patios and plazas will be alive with the vibrant colors and savory tastes of Mexico. Demonstrating artists, beautiful craft exhibits and art representing traditional and contemporary Mexico will also be on hand. And for the kids, don't miss the forever-fun face painting and creative balloon twisting. The popular strolling mariachis will meander through the village, delighting young and old.

Entertainment Line-up

Mosaico Flamenco, a huge favorite every year, lead by local popular singer/guitarist Gaetano and his band, will perform flamenco pieces from Spain and South America. Mosaico's seasoned flamenco dancers wow onlookers with unbridled passion and flawless execution, drawing bigger and bigger crowds every year. Noon to 4 p.m. in Patio del Norte.

Ballet Folklorico is a traditional dance troupe of all ages. Dancers in bright, colorful swirling fabric delight spectators year after year. The dances represent stories and traditions from the villages of Old Mexico. The shows are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Patio La Fuente.

As part of the day-long Fiesta music celebration check out world-class Ritmo Latino featuring the sensuous sounds of acoustic guitar, the romance of the saxophone, the sultry rhythms of Latin percussion and beautiful vocals of Andres Martinez, 1 to 4 p.m. at Patio de las Campanas.

And new this Fiesta is Jaleo Band. Enjoy a fusion of multicultural traditions expressed in the rhythmic melodies of salsa, cha cha, Latin jazz, merengue and cumbia. You'll experience a true melding of Latin and South American musical traditions. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Patio de las Campanas.

Mariachi La Familia Rojas will be roaming the streets and patios of Tlaquepaque from 10 a.m. to noon and also from 2 to 4 p.m.
