2/20/2012 8:15:00 AM Writing Workshop: 'How to Fix Your Manuscript' Well Red Coyote welcomes Sisters in Crime chapter
Do you want to be a better writer? Then come to a workshop that teaches you how to fix common writing problems, at The Well Red Coyote bookstore on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. It's free and open to the public.
Desert Sleuths, the Arizona chapter of Sisters in Crime, will lead you through exercises to round out your characters and tighten your plots.
A panel of published authors will show how to pump up your style so that your distinctive voice emerges.
Handouts will provide "before" and "after" visuals of better writing. At the end of the training session, you'll have a workout by rewriting a piece of flabby prose into a dramatic scene.
The Desert Sleuths are debuting their newest anthology, So West, So Wild. Bestselling author Meg Gardiner writes of it: "Arizona proves hot, dry and deadly...There's something for everyone to enjoy here, in tales of murder ranging from the humorous to the macabre."
The Well Red Coyote is located at 3190 W. 89A, at the corner of 89A and Dry Creek Road. For more information, call 282-2284 or go to www.wellredcoyote.com.
