2/6/2012 8:07:00 AM Linda Sandoval offers a Jazz Valentine at Reds
On Valentine's Day, come to Reds for a romantic evening of music with jazz singer and pianist Linda Sandoval. She'll be performing standards and songs of love and longing from around the world on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
The youngest of six in a musical family, Sandoval began performing in night clubs at the age of 5. Her early influences were jazz artists like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. She has recorded and performed throughout the United States and in Japan with small groups and big bands. After living most of her life in Los Angeles as a singer/songwriter, music copyist and actress, she moved to Sedona 23 years ago and began accompanying herself on piano. She is also an independent filmmaker and has had three of her short films show at the Sedona International Film Festival and in Tel Aviv, Israel.
In a review of Linda's CD, "jazz sketches", JazzTimes wrote ". . . Her spare piano styling offers just the right accents behind her clear, evocative voice, which is alternately spunky and mournful."
Located at 2250 W. 89A within the Sedona Rouge Resort, Reds features a world-class restaurant and bar with a very comfortable lounge area where you can enjoy an evening of jazz on Valentine's Day.
We recommend making dinner reservations in advance, at (928) 340-5321. There is no cover charge.
